Potential Hazards and Easy Precautions!

Given that some of our products can be pretty dangerous to use, we figured it was worth writing a post to help you understand the most safe way to work.

Don't misunderstand us: most fibreglass materials are perfectly safe to use - providing the potential hazards are recognised and reasonable precautions are adopted! Normally, you will have no problems if you follow these three basic rules:

1. DO NOT let any materials come into contact with the skin, eyes or mouth.
2. DO NOT inhale mists or vapours - always work in a well ventilated area.
3. DO NOT smoke or use naked flames in the working area.

P-P-P-Pickup These Penguins

Just chillin' out - It's what penguins do best.

Fibreglass ice has berg-ered up these dumb penguins' footing at "The Deep" in Hull aquarium. It requires a non-slip coating. So be careful out there, fibreglass is slipperier than ice - FACT!

Not suggesting that these penguins are spoiled but....

"Their £750,000 exhibit, based on an old South Georgia whaling station, gives visitors views of the penguins across three floors, both underwater and on land, and features the penguins' very own outdoor balcony with views overlooking the Humber."

NEW Water Clear Fast Cast Resin

This two component, hand-casting polyurethane system is easy to use and ideal for rapid prototyping, embedding or any type of clear casting, with or without vacuum. The resin is optically clear and UV stable, with a low odour.
