Electric Car has Fibreglass Body

Students from Waikato University in New Zealand have designed and built a revolutionary electric car.

Four engineering students developed the battery powered car which has a fibreglass body, meaning it weighs in at just 500kg.

The car can reach a top speed of 62mph, and will travel almost 100 miles on one charge.

It is the first of its kind to be designed and manufactured in New Zealand, and will be travelling the length of the country starting tomorrow.
