Iconic Red Phone Boxes Get Revamped for Charity

Remember The Big Egg Hunt from earlier this year? Well this time it's the turn of the traditional red phone box to get the fibreglass treatment.

BT has launched the ArtBox project to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics. 80 artists, designers and celebrities have been asked to redesign the phone box we all know and love, and turn it into something just a little bit different.

Ted Baker, Lily Cole and Timmy Mallett are among those who have been asked to participate in the project that will see the ArtBoxes displayed around London until 16th July, when they will be auctioned off to raise money for ChildLine.

To accompany the open air exhibition, there are walking tours, various events and a mobile app.
