Chinese Escape Pods

Remember the Japanese escape pod, named 'Noah' we told you about in October last year? Well now there is a Chinese version, intended to combat the Mayan apocalypse due to be happening this Friday...

Created by Liu Qiyuan, a farmer from Qiantun, his version is nicknamed, "Noah's Ark". These are larger in size, capable of housing 14 people, and designed using fibreglass and steel to automatically float upright. Occupants would have access to food, water and oxygen supplies.

Each pod cost almost £30,000, and he has built seven of them.
